Road trip!

Thousands of wacky buddy comedies have been launched with that simple two-word phrase. Thelma & Louise, The Blues Brothers, The Rescuers, Laurel & Hardy Go To TedX. It is a time-honored tradition. And after six long years, the ChatterBlast founders are going to be following suit. Evan and Matt are taking a five-day sojourn to South by Southwest (SXSW)!

“Many critical social media technologies and trends have been launched at SXSW, Foursquare and Twitter, to name a few. I’m excited to see what’s coming next!” said Evan Urbania, CEO.

SXSW was originally just a local festival held in Austin to promote up-and-coming artists in the music biz. 28 years later, it has ballooned into one of the largest conferences in the country to celebrate and promote developments in music, film, and interactive media. For 10 days, creative people from all over the worldl meet in Austin and share ideas. Considering the multitude of social media mavens, tech leaders, start-up saviors, and communications gurus – this can be considered the MECCA for digital geeks!

It has been obvious to everyone in the interactive community that SXSW is where communications agencies not only go to play, but to work out their new ideas surrounded by a rabid community of collaborators,” says Matthew, ChatterBlast Creative Director. “I’m tickled to be attending as a Blaster, and look forward to hanging out with my international peers.”

Both Evan and Matt have been to Austin before for vacations, so this trip is all about work, network, busywork, wetwork, webwork and WERQwork. Our duo will be attending panels, screenings, dinners, happy hours, showcases and more showcases and panels geared around the growing world of brand storytelling, social media, neo-alternative pop bands, bleeding edge tech and communications. If YOU are going to be in Austin for this festival, don’t hesitate to reach out to us and let’s meet up!

When the boys are completely exhausted from marathon days of interactivity and engagement – they will be sending some blogs, tweets and posts back to keep their friends and family informed. You can follow their adventures on Twitter or Instagram by searching for #ChatterSXSW ! Wish them luck, and if any of you have a spare ten gallon hat – they’d love to borrow one!
