Intern Program

The ChatterBlast Media intern program, affectionately dubbed the Junior Blasters, is an opportunity for undergraduates to work in a fast-paced and collaborative agency in a variety of roles. CBM leadership will work with colleges to ensure students receive college credit in applicable programs. Junior Blasters have the opportunity to work directly with all agency staff, including the CEO and Creative Director.

Many of our interns have gone on to full-time positions within our agency and have been recommended for various positions in the regional marketing/advertising arena. If you're dynamic, disruptive, and disciplined, this is an internship for you. Interns should be available for 15 to 20 hours per week in our offices, have their own laptops and have stellar skills for one of the following roles.

Internship Openings

Copywriting

We’re looking for an exemplary wordsmith to help craft marketing and advertising messages that are as disruptive as they are unique. We want people who truly do think out-of-the-box, the kind of person with a multi-colored resume and who writes Flyers fanfic.

If you’re a marketing, advertising, or public relations person – be prepared to show creative copy that is not hampered by the constraints or judgments of those tired, boring, old institutions.

Students with backgrounds and experiences in: creative writing, song writing, poetry, improve, theater, and comedy – YOU all should apply. Students with different point of views, unusual voices, wacky thoughts, wild ideas, and untapped dreams are going to the FRONT of the line.

You’re going to write… You’re going to write a lot…. You’re going to make the boring into exciting, the uninteresting into the fascinating. You’re going to make people pay attention to you.

You will get incredible portfolio experience, great references, an incredibly fun and relaxed work environment and an amazing team of mentors, teachers and collaborators.

In addition to a resume and cover letter, include an original 300-400 word writing sample in a separate document. Tell us a story. It can be about anything, even about that thing that happened to you one time. Make us laugh, or cry, or pump our fists, but most importantly, make us feel.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Generate creative content for a variety of clients including Facebook and Twitter posts and blog entries.
  • Manage content calendars, including edits and scheduling entries.
  • Concept, develop and implement creative campaigns across a variety of networks and clients.
  • Develop and implement specific voice and tone for a variety of clients and projects.

Experience / Skills Required:

  • The ability to write and self-edit.
  • Knowledge of proper grammar and spelling is a must.
  • Ability to maintain a consistent voice through a variety of different content types (blogs, FB posts, etc.).
  • Must be able to perform under a deadline.
  • Open to constructive feedback.

Graphic Design

ChatterBlast is seeking a rockstar graphic designer to help in the creation of groundbreaking multimedia content for both us and our ever-growing roster of clients. We want someone who thinks outside the box. Someone with wild ideas, who visualizes everything, and appreciates the art of meme culture.

You–our ideal candidate–have experience and a body of work in graphic design and light video editing. You can adapt the “go big or go home” mentality when it comes to the development of creative ideas.  You like to have fun, learn new things, and offer your own views.

In this role, you will work side by side with our full-time multimedia designer. You will get incredible portfolio experience, great references, an amazing team of mentors, teachers and collaborators all in an incredibly fun and relaxed work environment. This is a paid position.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the creating various design deliverables, including custom visual assets for social sites supporting visuals for creative content for all clients
  • Create visual assets for internal needs such as reports, presentation decks, social content and seasonal campaigns
  • Create designs, icons and layouts that adhere to and extend the company brand
  • Thrive in a highly collaborative, fast-paced, agile environment
  • Networking and assisting with outside partners and vendors, including branding agencies, public relations firms, graphic design teams, and web development organizations

Experience / Skills Required:

  • Knowledge of all of Creative Suite including but not limited to Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro
  • Must be self-motivated, a good communicator, comfortable following direction, and able to balance great design with meeting tight deadlines
  • Tapped into all things social
  • The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Account Management

ChatterBlast seeks an account management intern with the professionalism to deal with local and national level clients as well as the moxie to roll up their sleeves with our account team to deal with keeping all manner of day-to-day operations on track.

We are looking for someone who is hyper-organized with high attention to detail and a passion for social media, marketing and advertising. You’ll have plenty of client-facing opportunities, and the ability to contribute to the planning and execution of a variety of creative projects across all of our accounts. If you are curious, composed and have a passion for project management, get in touch. This is a paid position.

Responsibilities:

  • Sit in on key client meetings and calls and develop notes, next steps and key takeaways
  • Gather peer, competitor and client research to help inform creative briefs
  • Take an active role in account organization, project management and asset and resource tracking
  • Work with our creative team to help move assignments through the creative process to secure on time delivery for clients
  • Help organize, run and re-cap internal brainstorms for creative campaigns, content campaigns, ad plans and new business
  • Maintain monthly hourly reporting for all clients
  • Research new account opportunities, partnerships and collaborations
  • Research and report on creative campaigns for planning purposes for creative and advertising campaigns
  • Conduct influencer research and help establish engagement plans

Experience / Skills Required:

  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
  • In-depth knowledge of social platforms and the specific functions of each as they relate to marketing
  • Must be self-motivated, a good communicator, and able to balance good insights with short deadlines

Research & Strategy

ChatterBlast seeks a research & strategy intern to dig deep into the digital depths for our clients and tease out insights and inspirations that allow us to build the best strategic work possible.

We are looking for MUCH more than a cave-dwelling data mole. You’ll be working with the strategy team to present rich, insightful findings for our current clients that helps pave the way in strategy creation and digital recommendations.  

The research & strategy intern will help in researching peers, competitors, partners, influencers and competitors for new and existing clients. Interns will take on the role of building insightful reports and presentations to help each client understand their current circumstance as well as road-mapping the way towards their future goals and online initiatives.

We understand that you may not have worked with some of these platforms before, so a willingness to learn is important. We will train you on the specifics, but you need to have a built-in excitement for the topic! This is a paid position.

Responsibilities:

  • Collect data using native and third party software tools such as Facebook Insights, Sprout, Brandwatch, etc.
  • Conduct influencer research and help establish engagement plans
  • Sit in on client meetings, record notes and debrief findings to assist the strategy team in digital planning and development
  • Conduct peer analyses and self-audits that effectively educate clients of the current state of social media in their industry space
  • Take research findings and organize into detailed insights that can be used to drive digital strategy creation
  • Make strategic recommendations based on a deep understanding of social channels and their capabilities
  • Assist in building workshops and consultation courses for CBM’s variation of clients and their individual needs
  • Create agendas and timelines to keep projects consistently moving forward

Experience / Skills Required:

  • Knowledge of social metrics and keywords to measure success
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of Google Analytics & Facebook Insights
  • In-depth knowledge of social platforms and the specific functions and capabilities of each
  • Must be self-motivated, a good communicator, and able to balance good insights with short deadlines
  • Must be a problem solver, organized, detail-oriented as well as someone who can work diligently
