Brands Beware: Twitter is Cracking Down

October 26, 2018

This week, Twitter introduced a new “default” limit for the number of tweets third party tools (such as Sprout and HeyOrca) can publish to Twitter accounts per hour in the hopes of reducing spam. The limits are as follows:

We do not anticipate that these limits will affect any accounts as these numbers are far above our recommended post frequencies.

These new Twitter restrictions will also limit each tweet sent via third party tool to a maximum of two hashtags. This will bring some changes to our creative practices—mainly that we will need to be extra particular about what hashtags we choose to use in our Twitter content—but we expect no major change in our messaging itself.

Remember, we are here to guide you through these adjustments at any time. Our inboxes are open, so feel free to reach out to us with any questions or concerns.
